Guest post guidelines
Please take some time to review this entire section - it should answer any questions about what kind of content we’re looking for and how the submission process works. However, we do get a lot of requests, and we can’t accept them all! But these guidelines and recommendations could give you the best chance of success.
At TrueProfit, we’re committed to publishing content that’s educational, engaging, and genuinely valuable to our readers. From day one, we’ve focused on building trust—not pushing products. That’s why we avoid overly self-promotional content and prioritize high-quality, insight-driven articles.
As a guest contributor, your goal is to share your expertise in a way that helps readers. If your content is helpful, readers will naturally be curious to learn more about you.
With that in mind, here are the content principles you must follow:
Article Structure & Formatting
- Length: 1,500–3,000 words. You’re welcome to write more if the topic requires.
- Quick Recap: Include a short bullet-point summary (3–5 lines) at the very beginning of the article. This helps readers quickly grasp the value of your post.
- Formatting: Use H2/H3 headings, bullet points, and visuals to improve readability.
- Visuals: Include a thumbnail and at least 2 original or copyright-free images. If using third-party visuals, you must provide proper credit.
- Thumbnail Requirement: Your thumbnail must match the TrueProfit blog style — simple/Modern flat illustration with concise typography and minimal visual. Avoid overly promotional or stocky designs. (Need help? We can provide a sample)
Content Quality
- Originality: 90%+ uniqueness. Must be actionable, organized, and free of spelling or grammar errors.
- Search-Driven: Your article should be guided by a main keyword and search intent (e.g. informational, commercial, comparison).
- Citations & References: Include a list of all reference links used to write the article. These will be placed at the bottom or embedded contextually.
Linking Policy
- External Links: You may include up to 3 external links total:
- 1 no-follow link to your own site
- Up to 2 no-follow links to supporting resources
- Internal Links: Link to relevant TrueProfit blog articles where appropriate.
NOTE: TrueProfit retains full editorial control and may make changes for clarity, SEO, formatting, or to reduce promotional tone. All submissions are reviewed for alignment with our content strategy and audience interests.
1. Topic Approval First
We’ll start by reviewing your proposed topics and keywords to make sure they align with our audience and blog strategy. Please don’t start writing until we’ve agreed on the final topic and title.
2. Backlink Exchange Selection
Before moving forward, we’ll review your website and select blog posts where it makes sense to exchange contextual backlinks.
Once you approve these placements, we’ll proceed with the rest of the process.
3. Confirm Deadline
After the topic and backlink exchange are approved, we’ll ask you to set a clear submission deadline so we can plan our editorial calendar accordingly.
4. Submit Draft via Google Doc
When the draft is ready, send it to us as a Google Doc and be sure to grant editing access. This allows our team to collaborate and make direct edits when needed.
5. Editing & Feedback
We’ll review your article and make essential content or formatting changes directly in the Google Doc.
💡 If you’d like to keep an untouched version of your draft, please make a copy before sending it to us.
6. Publication & Go-Live Notification
Once finalized, we’ll schedule the post on our blog and notify you of the go-live date. You’re welcome to co-promote it on your channels!
